Okay.

btw, again, I don't know what the law is where you live. Here in Calif an employee must take a certain amount of time for a break according to number of hours in the shift. Even if the employee doesn't want to take a break, the person must be off the floor for the stipulated amount of time.

We're digressing though.
I think you're probably fine. Just be chill and see what happens.

Yes, they are locally owned, but are a franchise. I was referring to an indie business, one in which people don't have to conform to every moment of every shift.

Anyway, I'm going to opt out of this thread because I sense weirdness coming.

Those all seem extremely minor. I messed up worse and didn't lose my retail job. Similar environment of corporate orders and bosses over you within a customer service oriented environment. As said by others, they don't expect perfection, just that you're trying your best and not regularly doing major screw ups.

I don't think you are doing terribly. The mishaps are things that happen to everyone when they are at a new job. Probation sucks to be honest but so far it looks like you will do just fine. Best of luck to you.

I’m glad. I’d be dead if they expected perfection. Good to hear they’re all minor lol.

Yes, if you don't pass muster, you will not pass the probationary period.

Ruby, standards in most places of business are quite basic and common sense. If only you would make decisions and act in such a manner. I know it can be hard for you, but look at it this way...

If you have doubt about an action then just don't do it.

If you would find such behaviour unacceptable for someone else then just don't do it.

If you wouldn't appreciate someone else's choices or actions then just don't do it.

If you think an action has a chance of being outrageous then just don't do it.

Follow the rules exactly and keep yourself out of trouble. You know what actions are getting yourself into trouble so there is then no excuse for repeatedly deciding to do them. Only you are responsible then for the outcome of your probationary period.

Agree with this. Look doing what you're supposed to be doing, is, I am sure quite plainly laid out in the handbook and I know pretty much all of the major fast food joints have those. Stay within the guide book and you'll be fine.

This splitting hairs asking a third party (this site) to tell you whether or not things are going too far leads me to think that you're still testing the limits of the system in place.

As the quoted poster said, I agree with them especially in this way: If you have to come here to ask if some behavior is outside the guidelines and something that will make you fail during your probationary period, stop doing those things in question! If you're unsure then err on the side of caution and just do what you're expected to do. It's not a social playground it's not an entertainment place, and things that are for your own entertainment and pleasure really are unnecessary (like building a pyramid out of objects) so just don't. Save your play time for when you're off work.

it's really not complicated.

I’d say pay attention to a difference between accidents and deliberate actions. Dropping trays is an accident that happens to everyone but asking for extra discounts is not an accident. so keep an eye on that

seems your boss overlooked all your FU, so you should have no problem with probation
