Time to regroup and think. A lot of time. That's gold and I think its the best we can get. It would have been close to impossible to pause rhytm of our regular lifes like that.

I agree -- especially for people who were so busy working that they were not taking the time to care of their mind, body and spirit due to long work ours, etc.
It might also be a good time to improve our diets. I know I need to stop consuming sugary foods. Sugary foods compromise our immunity by raising our blood glucose. Our body is less responsive to fending off viruses when our blood sugar is high. This might be why diabetics are at greater risk of having complications when they get the virus. One of my family members is a pharmacist. He says some studies have shown that taking Zinc helps us fight viruses. It is my understanding that we also need to get enough Vitamin C and D too. |

this virus issue does have positive points. it has forced all of us to slow down and reevaluate exactly what is essential. to ourselves, to our family. to our community. beyond toilet paper.
what must I do to make my family unit work? what defines my family unit? can I put aside issues and make "family" work? in times of "normalness" or at least what was used to be considered was before, decisions on who was considered into the family home were easier..now, matters are much more difficult. some people need places to crash land, and that choice might be hard to call. just because they are 'family" doesn't mean they are welcomed but if they have no place else to go.... and it doesn't look like this situation will abate anytime soon...so we as a nation, as a family, as an individual must adapt. life becomes simpler..do we need to shop endlessly for things? how about consuming big time sports or activities? maybe it's time to scale life back some. learn to cook. read. walk. write. do photography. pray. develop yourself. take the time to really meet your family and friends and learn about them. yes this is a hard time but I do see some benefits arising from it. I have to. you have to keep hope. the alternative is not a pleasant one |

I think the positive effect on the environment with declining pollution should make us ask some pertinent questions about ourselves and our societies and what we can change to halt the damage we have already done.
Let's hope the normal we return to is not the normal we had before. |

Yesterday, on Easter Day, how serious the situation must be to cause governments around the world to shut everything down really sunk in. One of my family members worked yesterday and I realize that this increases the chances of our family being exposed. My reaction is to enjoy every minute of this life and to hug my family whenever I can. I am glad our that we are all together even though it increases our risk of exposure. Whatever happens, I have had a truly wonderful life and am grateful for that. The Spring is a wonderful time of the year and I look forward to my walks with my husband. I appreciate him more. We have plenty to eat and we are all getting along better than ever before. When you don't know what the future might hold, you savor what you have. Prayers to all my PC friends. There are some that have not posted lately. If you see this, please give me a hug so I know you are OK. Hugs to all.

We’ve been enjoying getting to spend time with our son who is in grad school. He is able to work from here, and still work on his grad projects. He took over our office and has meetings all the time (online) and works at all hours. He’s a delicious young man and I couldn’t be more proud. He’s also enjoying having me cook for him, and make his life easier.
