I read a couple of articles and found some things I identified with, but for the most part it didn't sound like my mother. My problem was that I was a parentified child. I had to take care of my mother emotionally while growing up. She never nurtured me at all. When I was sad or angry, she would just laugh at me. But all that was many years ago. I try to look at how things are now.

Sometimes it's when a parent struggles with BPD too. Often a child with that kind of parent ends up in a parenting role too.
