This is an important resource. Do they only report what has been previously in the news or can anyone send them a case information and they will report it provided that it's already a public record?

@Junk Did it help you? I mean, did you feel validated and supported when you saw it on the website?

today.. when I read the 2 posts about my situation.... certain words feel extremely validating. they used the words that the Board director used.. such as "abusive in nature" and that he put us in "dangerous situations" with people we did not know when the news paper published 2 article about former t and his suspension and license being revoked.... people commented on the article. one of my biggest mistakes was reading those comments they said I seduced him for his money... that he would never do such things. former patients... colleagues... family friends.. they all denounced my story. and even tho I was only called Patient X... it was devastating to my psyche __________________ |

When I wrote a review of my former T who was disciplined by the board on yelp, I got a message from someone who knew him, may be one of his other clients, may be someone else. They told me to "examine" my motifs and suggested that I wrote a review to get his attention and that I was supposed to "accept" that he was "not interested" in me. Needless to say, I had no desire to get his attention and I couldn't care less if he was or wasn't interested in me. I wrote a review to warn others about him and I attached factual documents from the board. But that message just pissed me off as well as other reviews that appeared immediately after mine was posted and were telling a completely different story about him. They painted him as a saint who did nothing but saving people's lives. I got very upset then, but I got over it relatively quickly. But your experience was much worse. To say that you seduced your T intentionally is so insulting and hurtful. Besides, even if that had been true, that wouldn't have made any difference in terms of who was responsible for abuse. He would've been responsible no matter what you had or hadn't done. But people are dumb and are too attached to their old ways of thinking about things. One thing I've learned from all that is that virtual reality is not safe at all. It's great that internet makes it possible to bring things into light, but this has its downside. Oftentimes, in the process of making things transparent people get hurt. This definitely applies to forums like this one and to all social media. |

but yeah... I can sort of see why they thought and said those things. it would be horrific to think someone you thought you knew could do such things. like as horrific as it was for me when I learned that those things he did were exploitative and abusive, and that it wasnt actually love at all. __________________ |

On my website I don't have a comment section under people's personal stories. I only allow comments under the articles. The last thing the traumatized people need is to read everyone's input on their stories. While there would certainly be those who'd understand, support and validate, there would also be more than enough hurtful and judgmental commentary to traumatize the person, who's already been through a lot. We don't live in a highly conscious world where people are willing to look at the reality and to honestly examine it. I am at the point where I finally stopped looking for validation and support from others. I know what happened to me. I know who was responsible for what. What I know is what I need to know. Everyone else's opinion is inconsequential to me. |

The psychiatrist in my case is not listed on this site because the arrest and the various litigations happened before 2009. But the other psychiatrist I saw who was arrested for selling opioid prescriptions...all his drama is on there. Three different articles, I think.

I once wanted to submit my case information to a website like this one, but then, after the board investigation was complete and he was disciplined and after I posted a negative review of him on yelp, I decided that I'd done enough for my own healing and that doing more would make a negative effect on me. I felt like it would keep me chained to him as long as I don't let go and that would be a major obstacle in my healing process. So, I just decided to break the chain and not to pursue any further actions.
He was publicly embarrassed enough and he also lost quite a bit of his income as a result of my actions to give me a sense of justice. I knew that those clients and colleagues of his who admired him would continue to do so no matter what kind of actions I take, so it made no sense to drag this further, but, most importantly, it would not allow me to start to heal. Anyway..I am so glad this **** is over.. |

"The sexually intimate relationship between you and patient X, which was abusive in nature, also included dangerous situations that you participated in with patient X, involving individuals that were not known by you or patient X, are all documented in electronic mail correspondence.”
Staff psychologists and the state psychology board’s investigators met with (FORMER T) on March 5, but he refused to be interviewed, according to the board’s letter. Based on the complaints and (FORMER T'S) unwillingness to respond to the board’s investigation, “the board finds that the public health, safety and welfare require that the board take emergency action” to suspend (FORMER T'S) license. __________________ |

I know some states in the US have criminalized sexual misconduct; mine hasn't, although twice it was tried and twice the licencing board lobbied hard against the bill. Said they had everything under control so the legislation was redundant. Now predatory therapists in my state can operate with impunity. Even the insurance companies are protected since they just rescind the policy. Even if the board yanks the license permanently (which it almost never does), the therapist can just call themselves a 'life coach' and continue on uninterrupted. Most of them don't have enough money to make a law suit meaningful, so you settle for some ******** little amount and a non-disclosure agreement, further protecting the predatory therapist. Rant concluded. Apologies for the thread hijack... Hi JunkDNA...I'm just winding down my actual fight, but the internal struggle continues (as you well understand.) It's been crazy, and illuminating, and sad. It did give me the push to go back for a masters in social work. I want to advocate for policy change in this area, and in child abuse. I would give anything for all of us to be able to form a lobby group and start beating on legislators to take this seriously. __________________ "You're imperfect, and you're wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging." - Brene Brown |

his insurance had a specific clause in their policy that did not cover any kind of sexual malpractice. I basically got money to shut up and go away. some ppl get millions of dollars for what seems trivial compared to my ordeal. it angers me orf course but such is life u I'm glad you're healing __________________ |
