Hello, my name is Shezbut.

I discovered Psych Central, through regular visits to it's cousin: Neuro Talk. Neuro Talk was very helpful to me in not feeling so alone and misunderstood after suffering a traumatic brain injury in March of 2007. After gaining better control over the physical effects of my TBI, psychological effects of the injury exacerbated previous emotional problems that I have always struggled to keep under control. I am physically and emotionally disabled, which has been difficult to accept. However, I have accepted this fact greatly in the past year or so!

My history includes: Self-hate, sexual and emotional abuse that continuously occurred throughout my childhood and adolescence, BPD, PTSD, DD-NOS, and recurrent major depressive disorder have caused several hospitalizations as a teenager and as a full-grown adult with children. Temporal lobe epilepsy, preceding the TBI, continues to add difficulties to my daily life.

PC has been a terrific resource for me in countless ways! It is reassuring to get to know other people who have suffered horrible crimes, and yet have grown to accept these memories and let go of the attached pain and self-blame. It is, of course, heartbreaking to know others who have had much more difficult lives than myself.

A very strong goal that I've always had in life is to help others get through similar struggles that I have fought (and continue to fight) in life. Moderating the PC forums helps me reach that goal that I've been aiming for. It is an honor that I take both rather seriously and I enjoy doing it!

Hi I'm Turts, one of the newest mods. I found pc over a year ago while reading psychology articles online and eventually joined the forums.

This place has had a huge impact on my life and i am so happy to be part of the community and team.

I struggle with major depression and anxiety but my biggest obstacle i have had to overcome was psychosis, an awful illness, but thankfully i am here today and it is not really an issue anymore.

Keen interest in psychology but no schooling on the subject so i just absorb as much info as i can and hope to return to college one day for study in the area

If anybody ever needs anything don't hesitate to drop me a pm or i'm usually around chat quite a bit, so dont be strangers and pop in and say hi!!

Heart Re: Meet the Moderators and Administrators!

Hello Everyone!

As you can see, I'm sabby, one of the co-administrators of the Community Support Team. I've been a member of this team for about 6 years now sans a couple of times I've stepped down for personal reasons and issues in real life.

I'm a mom of two beautiful daughters who have blessed me with 3 fabulous grandsons! They are all the lights of my life.

I started off as a moderator back in 2007 and moved up to administration in the beginning of 2008. Being here at Psych Central and a member of the team has been such a blessing to me all these years. I have had the opportunity to interact with so many members and all of you have made an impact on my life and learning that I am so very grateful for.

I have suffered with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, I'm a survivor of abuse and I also suffer from fibromyalgia, type II diabetes and migraines. So yeah, I do have my ups and downs like so many of you do as well. Being able to share my issues, receive support and to give support as much as I can has made a huge difference in my life. I feel blessed to be here and to be a part of this wonderful community.

Please know that my pm box is always open to all of you. I'm here to listen, to validate and to help you in any way that I can. I believe that communication is the key to better understanding and receiving the best support one can get.

I wish you all the best!

Hi everyone

I'm Lavender and a moderator here at Psych central. I have been a moderator for almost 3 years.

I have 3 wonderful daughters and 1 son.

I have borderline personality disorder, depression, PTSD and anxiety, I am also a survivor of child abuse. I used to self injure every day, I have now been free of self harm for almost 3-4 years.

I have been a member here for almost 8 years. I found Psych Central when I was at my lowest point in life but I am glad to say that I am in a much better place than I was back then.
