Someone deeply spiritual that I am not yet friends with said to me, "I like your energy..." By that she didn't mean I was being energetic (as I wasn't). She meant something like aura.

Do you ever get a certain vibe about someone? Like sensing that there is something either special or not right about that person's spirit? I guess you could call it a sixth sense or a plain gut feeling.

I am naturally sensitive to people's energy. It is not a choice or something I can switch on or off. It is just there. For me, it is not an aura. I've heard that aura is something people can see around a person, like a color. I don't have that. I don't see color.

For me it is a distinct feeling. And it's a continuum. Not necessarily a "good" or "bad" energy. Various types though some are much more pleasant than others. And I cannot ignore it, particularly when it is a darker energy. For example, I was buying groceries one day. I suddenly felt quite sick and just not very well for no apparent reason. A man walked by me with his daughter. He had a dark energy and after a few minutes he began angrily rebuking his child. I believe my body or spirit picked up on his energy and that's why I felt sick. Even after he had walked away, I didn't feel well for about 15 minutes.

I realize how bizarre this sounds to people who don't pick up on others' energy. I've had a couple of friends who teased me about it but I am being 100% sincere. I fall higher on the empathy scale than the average person so I think it is possibly related to that. My mother commented that she noticed this ever since I was a child and it has remained with me my whole life.

Ps. if I'm wrong about aura as a color, informed folks may correct me. It is not something I have ever studied.

Yes, I get it all the time. It's a normal part of my daily life, sensing people's energies and feeling if they are "good", "bad" or "suffering". It's so natural to me that I'm surprised when someone can't feel it. But I know that probably most people can't, it's very surprising to me anyway.

Oh yes. I always get a vibe or a sense of someone’s energy. I walk into a room and I will feel the energy of the room. I will feel conflict or sadness. I will feel positive energy and happiness. I always thought I did this from growing up in a family where you had to take the emotional temperature of people so you didn’t upset them. I think it’s usually correct though and I should listen to my intuition much more than I do.

I kind of wish I was able to read people better. Often I can't tell that they are going to take advantage of me. I tend to be naive and assume everyone is good.

Yeah, I know that gut feeling for sure. It's like you can feel what kind of person they are without you having to get to know them. I'm even more in touch with it now that I'm grown up. Honestly, I think it's a blessing. Helps you avoid people who might end up messing you up in the end.

I had a recent premonition about something that unbelievably came true. It must have been because I was so fearful about how potentially bad the situation could be that I imagined the worst that could happen and it did. It must be from seeing the red flags and preparing for the worst as a way of self preservation. I’ve seen people’s nature and know what to expect even when they had not yet tipped their hand.

In order to develop good intuition, you need to feel your heart center. Do not indulge in energies and various demonic origins. What you feel in 98 percent of cases is unconscious horizontal waves, it’s not your fault. Feel your Heart and then you will feel how others feel. Intellect will awaken. OM

Dear and to so many of your responders, I totally relate. Thank you so much. I have been extremely sensitive all my life. Maybe it's a survival mechanism, as so many of you have suggested earlier. Bottom line, I think something out there is always talking to us, or even from within us. Thank you for this very special thread! The very best to you, Breaking Dawn

Unfortunately, ever since my first manic episode, I have had it on steroids. It is extremely accurate. Never had it before. Wish I didn't have it now, as it is awful knowing something terrible is about to happen and not being able to do anything about it.

Vines can be misleading. A lot of people hate my "vibe" but i am a good man, and i care about people. Vibes can be positive and negative, and both can be misleading.

I totally relate and agree with Breaking Dawn on this topic. I do think that many people have accurate intuition but also believe that there are spirits out there that put thoughts into our mind--some of the spirits might mislead us or give us partial truths but the Holy Spirit will never mislead us. When I have intuitive thoughts or feel like I am receiving a message, I try to evaluate where it is coming from. IMO, messages that cause us to feel fearful (when we are not in danger), ashamed, suicidal, etc are from unholy spirits. I have also received messages (that fearful feeling that you get in your stomach) about people that I acted upon (for example, when dating someone new in college) that likely saved me from a lot of trouble.
