just found out my aunt has been in the hospital all week, not doing well I guess. she was just diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and had surgery to 'help' improve things - but the two stints that were put in weren't working. my cousin told me that this morning. and I looked it up on the cancer website, and the 5 year survival rate for this is less than 25 percent! I'm scared she might be dying.....

How very, very difficult. I'm sorry. But please don't pay much attention to stats! My sister had stage 4 breast cancer, was told she'd be lucky to live 3 years - she lived 17 more. My cousin had a rare cancer, a vicious type that was in various internal organs. She was give a 3% chance of living a year. Well, she lived six years. I wish those dopey stats didn't even exist.

My Aunt was a 2-time (2-type) cancer survivor! This was the third time, it was rare and very advanced by the time they caught it.
She passed away earlier today |

thank you so much everyone. her funeral was on Monday, and it has been incredibly difficult on me. (I was a pall-bearer) it's a catastrophic loss for me, as she had been my best friend!
