Hello everyone.

I have an appointment on Tuesday to replace my IUD. The whole procedure scares me, and I mentioned in another thread I am already scared of the OBGYN. However, I decided I will be brave and go in only having taken a sedative (last time I was under anesthesia). When I asked about the pain, the doctors describe it similar to a contraction that could last all of the procedure with cramps that could last up to a week.

I am requesting prayers for a safe procedure and healing thoughts. Thank you.

Sorry for not updating. It went great. I took a Xanax an hour before, and I was really scared and anxious at first, but on the way to the doctor it kicked in and it made all the fear and anxiety go away but not loopy. My only wish was that I was given the Motrin before the procedure. Taking it out took two seconds and only a startling pain but nothing too bad, putting it in was worse, but that only took ten seconds. No exaggeration on the times, it literally took two seconds to take out and ten seconds to take in. Afterwards, I was in a lot of pain (cramps) but nothing unbearable, although I was completely wiped out from all the stress so I just demanded for the Motrin and another Xanax because I couldn't "take it anymore", and before I even got home the cramps went away and then I got in bed and passed out for an hour. When I woke up, no cramps, no side effects from the pain, felt completely normal. Since then, some spotting, some slight cramps, nothing majorly painful. I am now really excited for my next period...ONLY! to see how bad the cramps will be with the hormones from the IUD kicked in. I've gone a year without the hormones and I've kinda forgotten how it goes when it's "normal".

Thank you for all your prayers and best wishes! I now know I am tough enough to do it awake...I just need a Xanax and a motrin beforehand!
