Hi.

I was wondering if anyone on this forum has ever experienced tactile hallucinations? If so, please discuss what it was like so I can be sure that I am not alone on this strange symptom.

Thanks.

Hola, SybilMarie.

I have had sensations of insects crawling on me, but when I check, there is nothing there. Sometimes this happens every day, and sometimes it happens a few times in one week and then goes away. I haven't had this one in months, so maybe the Olanzapine knocked it out?

Sorry to hear you're suffering by false sensations, and I hope you find relief soon.

I have the feelings of bugs crawling on my skin. I take hot showers and sleep when I can't just ignore the feelings.

Quite a number of times in my late teens/early twenties, I'd feel a sensation of lukewarm water gently running down my face. When it first started happening I'd look around or up at the ceiling thinking there was a leak, but realized it was some kind of hallucination as my face was not wet. Never really troubled me, and I was always intrigued about how real it felt. Then it just stopped happening.

Yes. When I was manic I had a full body creepy crawly sensation. It was awful. Also, at times I felt like someone was punching me in the face.

I used to have all kinds of tactile hallucinations. My antipsychotic put a stop to those. Since I started it I don't get them anymore. I take invega.

I think this is an older post, but I wanted to contribute anyway. Yes, I have experienced tactile hallucinations; they are very concerning. I get feelings of being pushed on, or I get a feeling of things crawling on me. I also get feelings of just being touched by a hand. Since my last does increase these issues have gone away.

I used to get a weird burning sensation and thought there were chemicals flowing through my veins burning me from the inside out...

I too get the experience of bugs crawling on me. Occasionally this is combined with a visual hallucination of an actual bug trying to dive bomb me. my haldol mostly takes care of it, but i do still get breakthrough symptoms and this is one of them.

I feel pain when nothing is inflicting me bodily damage. It's not "on my body" anywhere. It feels like it's in my mind. But it's painful. Little spikes, stings, or pin pricks.

I also get the sensation that I am being sexually harassed, raped, or inappropriately touched--without feeling anything on my skin. I'm not sure this counts as a tactile hallucination though. It happens for no reason whatsoever--just when strangers walk by.
