Hey there everyone!
I'm new here. I am currently on lithium and olanzapine for my schizoaffective disorder for the past 5 years. My concern and issue that I've been dealing with for the last 5 years is daily diarrhea, no matter what diet I try. My research leads me to believe that it is the lithium causing it, and I'm on a relatively moderate dose. It's a major daily issue that I have to plan my life around (when to eat, one meal a day in the morning, etc.) and would love to not have to deal with this any longer. So my question to everyone is, what mood stabilizer or mood stabilizer/antipsychotic would not cause diarrhea? I have a psychiatrist appointment in the next couple of weeks and want to request a change in medication. Thanks for your help! |

I take trileptal and it works well for me. I don't have issues with diarrhea though on lithium, so I don't know how it would affect you.

I take invega. It keeps my hallucinations away and doesn't upset my stomach.

I've never been on lithium to be honest and it's by choice. I dunno what it is about the drug but it kinda scares me and I've fought tooth and nail against doctors (who for some reason always wants to put me on it).
I'm currently on lamictal, which I've been on for years with no side effects, and getting off of rispherdal and starting latuda. When I was on the ap rispherdal I suffered from no side effects. I just started latuda 2 days ago but other than some upset stomach (not bad so I can handle it) I've experienced no side effects. __________________ Morality plays on stages of sin -Emilie Autumn |

Best combo I have ever tried is Zyprexa and Lamictal. I feel genuinely happy, something I haven't for years.
