One of my ip nurses was shocked I was having so many hallucinations. She said you haven't been diagnosed with schizophrenia have you?? I was like well no but....

Then I explained I was diagnosed with psychosis on admission and have had it several times and how pdoc and psyd disagree with my dx. So I either have no with psychotic features or schizoaffective bp type.

She's a psych nurse. And she knows me do I'm surprised she was surprise I'd had them.

Anyone experienced this?

My aunt, who is a nurse, told me "you're not a schizo" even though I hear three voices all the time... so yeah.

My delusions have all been drug induced. I don't hear voices never have. I've had visual hallucinations though very rare and mild when manic. However when I get manic and turn psychotic it can be severe

Some doctors seem to love giving this diagnosis which is fairly new.
Everyone in my family refers to my condition as bipolar. I am classic bipolar imo.

The pdoc that dx with sza said it is because of my disorganized thoughts.

Tbh I can care less what it says on paper. Treatment is the same and nobody has to know what the paper says.

Stay positive my friend.

I'm not worried which dx I have really as long as they treat my symptoms correctly. I do more closely for sZa butt here treated the same so whatever. I'm still having hallucinations and it's freaking me out.

i get hallusinations and hear voices, the docs say it is schitzoaffective because its not as bad as schitzophrenia, but i have to disagree. I think i am more schitzophrenic as i read more about it and it suits my symptoms. at one point years ago i had delusions, but no more.

I used to have delusions as well and have been diagnosed with both schizophrenia and schizoaffective depressed type. I believe I have schizoaffective because I have the mood component of depression.

Like you actually feel things on your skin, or you just get the emotional disgust like you are being touched by people? I was always curious if my "tactile hallucinations" count, as I feel more like the latter (I am being inappropriately touched but no sensation of touch on the skin hallucination).

Sometimes I will feel bugs crawling in my hair and swear I have fleas, but nothing is there.
