Hey everybody,
I usually don't post on this site, as my schizoaffective disorder has been, for the most part, under control for a number of years. But sometimes i forget what my illness is. When i get distressed over certain issues, i see just how dysphoric i become. I don't hear voices or have hallucinations so much as becoming scared out of my mind. It's more than just anxiety. I made a mistake today, and I know i'm blowing it out of proportion. It just stinks having to deal with the consequences of this mistake and my illness at the same time. I'm so afraid of offending somebody, regardless if i'm in the right, that I avoid situations. And it can cause ideas of self-injury. Life's a dance, you learn as you go. But sometimes it feels a billion pounds dealing with a 1 ounce problem. Anyway, I just need to remind myself i have schizoaffective disorder, and i will keep in touch more on this site. I understand. With meds I am normal even once thought i was cured. I often have to remind myself I'll never be cured, I have to keep stress low, etc.

Thanks Aviza,
I feel better. I guess i'm going through a refresher course of what my illness is because of this experience. God Bless Richeye __________________ Dx: Mood Disorder NOS/Pure-O OCD/Schizoaffective disorder |

Thank you for sharing this. I'm finally learning to accept that I have this illness. Part of that is remembering that I'm not fatally flawed I just struggle with MI and stress can really overwhelm me.
