My 31 yr. daughter has schizoaffective and bipolar. She also has drug addiction issues. I have been going with her to her medication appts.
Sometimes I feel like an intruder or that I am tattling on her. How do you feel about some going with you to your appointments. |

No one ever goes with me to my appointments, but sometimes I feel it would be nice to have someone who cares enough to do that

I'm 45 was 44 at the time. My mom came to my initial appointments. I was pretty out of it. Told the doctor the meds I tried how she had lost hope. He told her I have a med that works.
Now I have a job an apartment and am doing well. I don't know what I'll do when mom dies. She's really been there for me. She doesn't go now that I'm stable. __________________ Son: 14, 12/15/2009 R.I.P. Daughter: 20 Diagnosis: Bipolar with Psychosis. Latuda 100 mgs. |

I wouldn't have my mom go with me, but if I needed someone, I would absolutely have my best friend go with me. She has gone to medical appointments with me and it has helped immensely.

Not my mom but my husband comes with me. I would never allow my mom to go because she doesn't need to know how much I struggle. Is she truly honest with you there? You could always wait in the waiting room.

My Mom has come with me before when I am really struggling. It's nice for the support.

Might be time to ask your daughter how she feels about it. |

31 now. My mom went with me from 23 to 28. I told her I wanted her to because I wouldn't be completely truthful to the Dr about my symptoms or know what to tell the Dr because I thought most everything I was thinking was normal. I had a friend go with me the first year after diagnosis. When they couldn't anymore they suggested I ask my mom. So glad I did.

My Mom usually offers to go with me. I have let her come when I am really struggling. If I am doing okay I do it by myself. HUGS Kit
