Im not sure if this is a schiz thing, a med thing, or just a me thing- but these last... 8 months maybe I have noticed that I make a lot of bizarre movements. They get worse at night but they happen at all times of day.

Mostly its this piano playing motion of my fingers and this shaking of my hand at the wrist.

Less often its face twitching and rocking my body slightly.

Im not sure why I do this. I never did this before. Im not sure if its anxiety or a new habit thing or what.

Anyone else have weird movements?

I get twitching and body spasms. Some medications cause twitching. I take Lovan and it makes my body twitch before I go to sleep. Kinda annoying when trying to get to sleep. You can check out side effects of your medications on the internet.
Then there are other times when I get spasms in my neck or have the inability to step my neck from moving to side to side. They can get started from a thought or not feeling safe. My body disconnects from emotions and go into diverting it to movement.

Next time you see the professional who treats you ask them what they think is happening.

It's a side affect. There are meds used to help. I'm on them.

I would talk to your med provider. I don't have twitching but I do have rocking movements with my body. Could be part of the autism disorder. Could be that it's soothing to the depression. Could be that it's just me. And my leg shakes a lot but that's anxiety.

This might sound strange to you (& I'm not suggesting that it applies to you), but my voices, especially one or two of them, deliberately cause physical behaviors & sensations of muscles & pain receptors. Honestly, the brain is capable of many things. I've had to deal with it & adjust to it, in order to live my life & keep the best attitude I can. I know there are worst things in this world & I'm thankful things aren't worse for me. I do agree that the meds are notorious for creating the things you are experiencing. I'm not on meds, except for atenolol, for blood pressure. Anyway, I thought this might be of interest. One never knows how an added input might be of help somehow. Hugs to you. I wish you all the best.

I actually think it's a side effect from the meds I'm on but I find that my left hand used to get contorted and my mom would tell me constantly "stop making your hand like that" when we go out in public. Nowadays it's more subtle, like I find that sometimes when I look at my left hand I would be pointing in whatever direction my hand is facing.

I developed Tardive Dyskenisia from a med I was on at one point, I got off that particular medication and it went away after some time, it's usually due to antipsychotics. When I had TD symptoms I had involuntary face movements like chewing and twitches.
