I'm not sure where to post this. I thought I would try here since I know some people who post to the check-in thread. I really feel invisible. My family ignores me for the most part. I send them text messages like, "Hi! How are you?" or "Good morning!" and I get no response. I can understand a few times. But it's constant. I've quit texting people. It doesn't really matter. The point is, I'm invisible.

And even here on PC, I'm invisible. I posted under depression about something important to me and no one responded. I'm not going to the depression group anymore. I don't fit in there. It makes me feel like something is wrong with me.

I have this constant feeling like I'm not good enough. And I don't know what I ever did wrong.

I am so sorry, Deilla. I have always enjoyed interacting with you.

I was telling someone else I feel like a monster. Noone will really have anything to do with me. I have almost no friends and my almost entire family had bailed on me. I see things and think I am the president and people do not enjoy me like that.

This is why you are such treasures to me. You get it when it is a bad day. You care. And I care about you, Deilla truly. I miss our fun time on the breakfast chat or whatever it is called.

Keep posting. Ask for help. Support other people. Help others. It helps. Tomorrow is a new day. There is always hope.

Hugs!!

Hugs!

Thank you so much! I appreciate your support. I've been working on this feeling of not being good enough. And I've been reading that self-compassion helps tremendously. So I am trying that. I care about you as well. I am always happy when I see you on the forum. I hope you are doing well.

Delia, I know how you feel about being invisible. My father and brother never talk to me either. My mother just tells me her problems when we talk. I think I just got used to being ignored but sometimes I want people to acknowledge me. When this happens, I go to penpal sites and dating sites then get into trouble. Sometimes, it is better to be ignored and just focus on myself. I totally commiserate with you!

My mom is like that too. If we talk on the phone, she will unload all her problems on me. I got tired of it one day and set a boundary. So now we just text or email. Seems like lots of people have trouble with family. For a while I felt so alone in my problem. It helps to know I'm not really alone and that other people can relate. Thanks for your support.

I always appreciate hearing from you on the schizoaffective check in thread, so know you're not alone there. My problem is with appreciating my own worth. There's no quick fix solution to this, for me, I've learned. It's a constant effort, I think, to feel love towards myself.

Thank you! Yes, I can relate. It takes effort for me as well. I fall into negative self-talk and then have to remind myself to focus on something positive. I think this past year, I've been able to make a little progress in catching myself before I feel too terrible. I've read a few books by Shad Helmstetter. He writes about self-talk and how to improve it. I know if my inside dialogue is going well, I can think good thoughts and show myself appreciation.

I can sympathise, I have felt invisible in the past and like nobody really cared. You’re not invisible to me, though. I don’t always know how to respond to posts (lack of knowledge/insight issues on my part) so in those cases, I’d rather not respond in case I give bad advice or something. I do appreciate the responses you’ve given me before.
I’m really sorry your family don’t want to talk, though, that’s really sad. I doubt you did anything wrong, sometimes other people are just very wrapped up in themselves or in their own lives and don’t make enough room for others. Not saying this is what’s going on with your family, but it’s possible.

Thank you so much for the support. I appreciate it! Yea, I feel like my family is probably just too caught up in their own world. I wonder why they don't think of others more often. I know I have my stuff, but it helps me a lot to be social. I am realizing not everyone is built that way. And I'm trying to be compassionate with myself rather than think it's my fault.

I won't go into my (birth)''family'' ... very cruel. I agree that self compassion is key.
