Hello and Peace of Mind to All,
I have been trying to pay attention to all things involved with mental changes including (but not limited ) to physical changes and am interested to know if any of you have been doing the same thing and if yes any info that you may want to share. I happened to have an interesting weekend with many changes in mental state but was consciously monitoring (after the fact) the actual physical changes that accompanied them. Such as head pain, slight nausea, and to my surprise something resembling stuttering and lastly nodding for no more than 2 minutes and waking up crying? I have an appointment with my professional today and will discuss this. In my quest to get to the bottom of my problems any and everything has become important and something to be noted. I would appreciate any ones input on this. (Or if anything sticks out to anyone that could lead me to reading material). This is the first that I actually noticed the difficulty in getting out words but husband has bought it to my attention that I do this when extremely stressed (which doesn’t take much sometimes) but when trying to look back I guess I do. PS… NO RESCUE NEEDED, but information will be greatly appreciated from anyone. Whispers |

Hello not-in-need-of-rescuing-whispers. I happened to have an interesting weekend with many changes in mental state but was consciously monitoring (after the fact) the actual physical changes that accompanied them. I'm not sure if it will apply but in the aftermath of my own experience I remember doing a similar "experiment" with a friend. While monitoring our conversation I paid attention to the comments that produced pain on some level. Quite frequently, this pain manifested in physical symptoms such as tension, nausea, pounding heartbeat, etc. Investigating further, I found that the "pain" was nearly always related to a self-concept such as, "what if they don't like me if I say...". The entire exercise was very informative, to say the least. This is the first that I actually noticed the difficulty in getting out words but husband has bought it to my attention that I do this when extremely stressed (which doesn’t take much sometimes) but when trying to look back I guess I do. I found the same but only if I was in a situation when I felt that the other person perceived me in a negative light (i.e. inferior because of my experience) or when I was trying to express some complicated information (i.e., Jung's model of the psyche and how it pertains to ego fragmentation). However, if I was in a situation where I felt accepted, understood, and not trying to condense a really big concept into a nutshell of a conversation, this same difficulty fell away. ~ Namaste __________________ ~ Kindness is cheap. Thank you for the reply "Not capable of rescuing other people",
This information does help a lot when going over the situation and have to say that nail was hit on the head. I am on my way to the"professional" in a few minutes and getting this information helps in being able to possibly identify the situation before going. I forgot to mention the total obsession with the words*Humanely Destroyed" for the whole weekend after watching the news on Friday evening. This my friend is is the knowledge that I am looking for. It gives me a sense of control over what I take in and out of my visits with the professional. Thanks again for the quick reply. |
