Thank you so much! The top one is a Floating Cloud (it really is white, green, and pink), and the bottom one is a Pixie.

I really like your recent photos! Is this a new camera, or are you doing something different with it? The specs are very impressive, I wish that mine had a sensor that big! I don't really know how to use mine properly yet though lol, so I've signed up for a photography course, hopefully starting in September.

I am also glad that, even with everything going on for you with your mum's health, that you were still able to get out and enjoy nature. I hope that it provided some much needed relief for you

I hope that you have fun, Blue_Bird! I had so much fun when I went to my local cemetery to take photos. I posted a couple on this thread a while back.

There are lots of interesting things to photograph in a city though. For me, it's about noticing interesting shapes, textures, colours. I quite like contrasts in things, textures especially, and the interplay of nature and manmade structures. It's all about taking pictures of whatever it is that you find interesting, and playing about with different ideas and angles etc.

Hope you find some inspiration

It’s maybe a few years old now but the weather has been overcast, it’s where that camera performs best...although maybe at Christmas I got a new lens for it.....it’s a long lens and right at the max extension it takes these awesome pics ...but because it’s not macro I have to be like 10 feet away to get a great shot at that extension.....still it saves me from kneeling down most of the time so yeah it probably the new lens.

I was trying to explain to my mum the other day how important the weather is for taking a great photo. So often it feels more like luck than skill to me when I get a shot that I'm really pleased with! lol

Have you heard of the golden hour, right before sunset and right after sunrise....supposed to be the best time to take pics every day....I never do but when you look at sunrises and sunsets on Pinterest clearly someone does....

Yes, I've heard that, and find sunset times good for taking photos, but never tried sunrise before. However, the Summer Solstice is coming up soon, and I've found a nice high vantage spot in the countryside to watch the sunrise, so I'm hoping that the weather will be good and I might get some good shots.

I do think that they also use special filters/editing a lot of the time to really make the colours 'pop', as I've tried photographing sunsets and the colours are not as vivid as what my eye can see. But maybe that was my phone camera, and my new camera would be better, idk?

Th colors are highly variable between brands...imo canon has the best color but Nikon is sharper....but yeah I think a lot of people use what polarized filters too.

Actually, rather than being excited to photograph the sunrise, I'm actually more excited by the possibility of doing some night photography. My phone camera is absolute pants in the dark, so I've never been able to take night photos. I'd love to try astro photography, but there's probably far too much light pollution around for a really great shot, and I'd have to get a tripod. But I'm excited to experiment regardless
