Hey guys, this forum is brilliant! So much support. I'm going to detail a bit of my journey with this illness that we unfortunately share. First episode 17 years old. Had to be taken from school to a hospital. First diagnosis was a psicotic break due to weed I smoked. this kind of stuff is very taboo, I got accompanied by a psiquiatrist from a public hospital, the **** (sorry for the words) was giving me placebo. Maybe I'm being unfair becouse it was very hard to diagnose me. So I stayed 2 years with no medication or therapy, just allucinating but I still could do normal stuff. Had to quit college as I couldn't take it anymore. My mom got so desperate and I finally went to see a psiquiatrist in a private setting. He looked worried and gave me a cocktail of medication, man it took me some weeks to get used to it, I was like a zombie. Fast forward some years and a new doctor, I do struggle everyday. But I'm able to work and be self sustained. Everyday is a battle as ansiety and depression give me episodes, and I'm so suspicious of every single thing. I can't never be with my guard down. So that's just a part guys. I'm going to contribute more. This was kind of a 2 more detailed introduction.
Thank you for reading. |

Hey, welcome to PC!
I’m sorry that you’ve had so much to deal with, but it sounds like you’re coping pretty well right now to be able to work and be independent, which is great. All the best *Willow* |
