I have been seeing my therapist longer but only a psychiatrist three times. Who's diagnosis should I trust?

Honestly psychiatrists tend to do better with diagnosis even if you see them less, but all the diagnoses are artificial anyway so only trust it in so far as you can relate.....

Therapist may understand you better, Psychiatrists tend to over simplify.

The psychiatrist I saw and my primary doctor both tell me that the diagnosis isn’t the most important thing, managing symptoms and finding the right medication should be the focus. I like labels though.

Psychiatrists diagnoses tend to be more accurate given the fact that they specialize in and went to school to learn how to diagnose and treat mental disorders. I see both a therapist and psychiatrist and they both help me a lot, but in different ways. My psychiatrist I see once a month and he prescribes my medications and more deals with the medical side of things. My therapist I see every other week and he has given me the tools to live and cope with my illness. He's taught me how to challenge my thoughts and rationalize things. Both are great for me but in terms of trusting a diagnosis, I go with my psychiatrist.
