I’m female, 13 years old. So I like have this person in my head which I want to talk to you guys about. They don’t have a name and I don’t know there gender because they’re like refusing to say anything to me right now. They only come and talk to to me to say mean things about people or when I’m trying to sleep. I can’t sleep unless I’m on my back because I see like a ghost like figure with big white eyes watching me and I think it’s the person in my head like haunting me or something. They share bad thoughts with me and I have to tell them to stop and I yell at them. I think this person is jealous of me and they want to come out of my head and become a real person. I think they’re waiting to become strong enough and take over or kill me. Everyday when I’m in bed at night that ghost thing gets bigger and I feel them on top of me. It’s scary and I try to close my eyes telling them to go away and sometimes they do. I don’t know if it’s this but someone told me it could be schizophrenia but I don’t think so and I know I sound crazy but I swear this person in my head is real.

Hello Txara: Thank you for sharing your concern here on PC. I see this is your first post. So... welcome to Psych Central. I'm sorry you are having this difficult experience. Hopefully coming here to PC can be of some comfort & support.

We here on PC can't offer mental health diagnoses. Plus I'm not a mental health professional. So I can't really say anything about what you're experiencing. You mentioned you're 13. I really think what might be best here would be for you to talk with your parent(s) about what's happening & have them make arrangements for you to see a mental health professional. That's the way to really figure out what's going on.

You wrote that what's happening is scary. And I can imagine that would be the case. You mentioned someone having suggested you might have schizophrenia. So I presume you have talked with someone about this. But it's important to share what's happening with someone who can actually be of help to you, not just someone who offers their off-hand opinion. Does that make sense?

Anyway... having written all of this... I'd just like to say I hope you find PC to be of benefit. My best wishes to you...

Hi Txara,

Have you tried to tell your parents what you have told us? Is there someone you trust enough to share these feelings and thoughts? Maybe a sibling? A teacher? The school psychologist?

Hugs

Please talk to your parents. It might not be schizophrenia but in any case... if its troubling you its best to be open with an adult about.

I really wish that my troubles had been caught at 13, I would probably have more skills to deal with them and would have had a leg up.

You have the chance for this right now. Please talk to someone you trust, there is help out there for whatever you are going through
