So, I am a very creative person. There has always been a story that creative people struggle with mental illness.

I uploaded my ancestry DNA results to promethease and I apparently have LOTS of schizophrenia, ADD, ADHD, depression, and autism (I have struggled with anxiety) related genes. I have never had any kind of hallucinations, but I am wondering if it really is true about creatives?

has anyone else done this test?

I’ve done promethease.....I must have had 20 schizophrenia genes....personally I would not worry if I were you they don know enough about the genetics 🧬 for it to be meaningful.

I had more than that. I think there are too many for me to be able to read all of them.

If you have no symptoms, its nothing to be worried about.
Think of it like this: maybe you have loads of genes suggesting a proclivity towards bowel cancer. But if you have no symptoms, there's nzero reason for chemo or radiation, right?
If you do have symptoms, such as related to your anxiety, you should talk them through with your provider.
But this most likely has no current relevance to your health.
All the best to you. 😊

It's too simplistic to reduce something as complex as a mental illness to a few genes, and even more so for creativity. I really wouldn't read too much into it.

I always wonder how reliable these sites are when it comes to health. I did ancestry dna to look for my scottish roots but I am more skeptical about loading the results to something that would be related to my health or wellbeing. Are they reliable?
