I have schizoaffective disorder but would mostly hallucinate off medications . But am managing well on medications. I come from a family with lots of schizophrenia. But don't know how to talk to other people who are infused with their delusions.

My brother and mom are both the paranoid schizophrenic type. My mom is old and has neuropathy in her legs that causes pain.
My brother is telling her it's people from government contracts that are zapping her legs with radio waves or something causing the pain. He sent her foil blankets to protect her legs from the zapping.
He is going to visit soon and I don't know how to talk to him when he brings up his paranoid delusions.
It's also making my mom more paranoid then she is already. They both think they are really experiencing the government harassing them with laser and radio waves and get defensive when you suggest otherwise.

Hello pokadots: Thanks for bringing your concern here to PC. I see this is your first post here. So... welcome to Psych Central. There is a forum, here on PC, dedicated to the subject of schizoaffective disorder. Here's a link just in case you'd like to check that one out:

And then here are links to 7 articles, from Psych Central's archives, that offer advice for dealing with people who are struggling with delusions:
