I say maybe "it" is because...now, my mental "problems" don't seem to be the core of who I am, not really. I"m a lot of thing...the "illness" is just something I deal with.

but...OK, my shrink is forever talking about "mania" as in "oh, can't prescribe that...you'll go manic" and "are you having manic symptoms?," meanwhile...

people who actually know me care for me, but they're blunt: "You have Schizophrenia." I might actually be the last person to own up to it.

Treatment is OK. Abilify is good to me, as antipsychotics go. I just...more and more, I doubt that its Bipolar I or even Schizoaffective. Schizophrenia, and I get the deep down depression.

have of any of you been given other labels/diagnoses? I will say...a good thing about finding a diagnosis that actually fits, as much as any label can fit, is that it helps me compare experiences to people who go thru the same (more or less) things. :-)

I've been diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective bipolar type, and bipolar disorder at different times. I don't know which one is correct. I think it's hard because it can be subjective and depends on your pdoc. One pdoc will see one thing and another will see something different.
