This is a reddit reply I got;

"The supplements NAC and sarcosine (especially in combination) are shown to reduce negative symptoms. If possible getting on lower doses of your meds might help too. Getting a hobby can give you something to do and might give you motivation. Start small and slowly work up your energy levels. Nothing will overnight fix things but if you take it slow and try to push through the tiredness a bit each day I think you'll feel better. Games that make you think like crosswords or word searches or even card games can be good to train your brain too. Hope you feel better soon."

Sorry Desoxyn, just saw this thread realized you didn't get any replies. To be honest, what helped my negative symptoms is vraylar. I have much more motivation now. Strangely enough seroquel has also helped, once it was increased to 600 I have tons of energy and feel motivated and happy about things again. Which is weird because on lower doses I felt like a zombie who didn't care or get excited about anything in life. I know everyone experiences things differently though. Hope you find something to help you.

I agree with the hobby thing, pushing through resistance to doing things is hard but I find once you get started it's easier to keep going. So sometimes you can't wait for the motivation to do things because it may never arrive and the more you avoid things,at least from my experience the harder it gets, you have to start and the motivation often come afterwards

hi. prozac seems to be helping -me- at the standard dose of 20mgs/daily. that's on top of my abilify. wellbutrin was OK...I had a bit more energy, mood was better, I ate a tad less...but the dose was too high for a while, i got jittery and ditched it. and...

i think with the antipsychotic/tranquilizer, its a matter of hitting the 'sweet spot.' oh, and drug selection, too. im on abilify because it didn't cause the same level of EPS as the other 'atypicals' i tried. does it help negative symptoms? honestly...at low doses, I could see it helping, but at the full dosage, its more like...a less toxic/nasty antipsychotic.

if the dosage is too low, personally...problems/symptoms would pop up that would overshadow lingering negative symptoms. why bother? now, excessive dosing...that can definitely zombie-fy people. happened to me...a psych wanted me on 30 abilify, then he topped it off w/ additional abilify to add in an ssri (not prozac). i basically turned into a functioning vegetable. oddly enough...no EPS. weird, huh?

back in the day, ritalin helped. Rx amphetamines kinda did, but...there was this weird feeling, being on an amphetamine and a tranquilizer, at the same time...unnerving, i'll put it that way. i have a friendly acquaintance who takes a seroquel xr at night and an adderall xr in the morning...she likes the combination, she seems to be doing better. each person is different.

mirapex has been touted as helping negative symptoms. i have never taken it, so i cannot offer any personal experiences.

when possible...meaningful social interaction helps me. low pressure activities, learning new things. writing. tackling projects bit by bit. on a more basic note, just keeping my space clean(ish) and cooking for myself, even hygiene (lather, rinse AND repeat) helps move me along in the right direction.

oh, and b-vitamins and antioxidants. those seem to help. i don't know if its placebo, if its a direct affect, or if they just improve response to the psych Rx...but yeah, works for me.

This meditation technique helps almost always.

Close your eyes and try to see all the muscle tensions in your body that deprive you of a comfortable state. Pay special attention to the muscles of the face and head. And then, not paying attention to these muscle tensions, you should try to achieve a comfortable state. You can get comfortable condition with a lot of muscle tension. People often do not notice this strong muscle tension and unconsciously support it. This tension may be so strong that your efforts will not be enough to remove it. But your efforts should be directed not to maintain tensions but to remove them.

To do this, you only need to focus on the state of internal comfort.
If you notice that the internal tension as it pulls attention to yourself, try to focus attention on this place, and then as if to get out from under this concentration of attention. This can be called the technique of scattered attention.

Then this thing can happen - you concentrate on some place, you can relax the muscles, but the tension has changed the configuration and went to another place. You track tensions again and you leave from it again and it goes to another place again. So you can meditate as much as you want. If you succeed, then there is a certain pleasure in it.
It is better to do it at night, but you can do it at any time. You can anywhere at least for a moment to close your eyes and instantly disconnect.
In depression, do not orient on the emotional color of the feeling, but only on its strength.
Well, that is the reason for depression can be anything and feelings can be different. But the feelings should be ignored as if they were not.
Sorry for my English.
