Question Aug 24, 2019 at 07:37 PM
  #1
I was told by friends and family that i am manipulative, controlling, and only care about myself. I know i can be manipulative. its not wrong. people are. they are always wrong and they need me to point them in the right direction. And i do only care about myself. i couldnt care less about other people and how they feel and what they are dealing with. it doesnt affect me. but why does everyone get so mad about it? like im doing you a favor calm down. and if someone does me wrong i make them feel bad until they apologize, because they are the problem. i have to be the best at everything. my life is a constant competition. its crazy. this isnt my schizophrenia is it? i know its not normal to feel this way but its how i feel. there are only two sides to everything, no in between, and everyone except myself are idiots who need me. but sometimes i need to figure things out for myself which is why i am here. any thoughts?

I would say, no, none of that really relates to schizophrenia.

doesn't sound anything like schizophrenic symptoms, maybe ask your doctor or therapist

Did they ever tell you if they diagnosed you with any personality disorders? For example I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and also antisocial personality disorder. I never knew about personality disorders before 2013 (I was in the psych ward with acute benzo withdrawal). The clinician mentioned I had both of them but didn't tell me who had diagnosed them. I have stopped being angry about it because now it's just important to accept and love myself and the rest of the world can go to hell. See? There's a little bit of my personality disorders peeking through. I'm not cold really, but I have a very dark "shadow" (as per Carl Jung) which is involved with my rage.

But none of that really has much to do with my diagnosis of schizophrenia.

Yeah none of that sounds like schizophrenia to me. But of course, not a medical professional. Some of it does sound like a personality disorder potentially- or just a... very particular world view/your choices in how you interact with the world around you

My stepdaughter has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and the way you describe yourself is the SAME way she is. Everyone is always wrong and the 9 year old is always right 🙄.
