Hello and first of all apologies in advance for potentially sounding weird as English isn't my first language.

I am a 20 year old male with a history of atypical depression and social anxiety but my treatment so far has been limited. The only medication I'm occasionally taking a small dose of insidon to help me sleep.

So much regarding the general situation.

The reason why I'm here: I have been experiencing some really freaky things and I don't know what the hell they are and what's going on with me. The are basically "apparitions", sort of demon like humanoid creatures that are lurking in my room staring at me. I know they are not real, I know they are not there, and I can't even actually SEE them. I just FEEL like I can see them. It's like for example I'm sitting at my desk and I get this feeling that there's someone or something in the room with me and I can exactly describe what that being looks like even though I can't see it. And I know that if I would turn around nothing would be there. While at the same time I am like paralysed and too terrified to turn around and check.

I don't know what the hell is going on. I'm scared that this might be a sign of something like psychosis but if I were psychotic I wouldn't be aware of the fact that these things aren't real, right? I don't know an awful lot about psychosis so I don't know if that's actually true or a misconception.
Additionally, I am aware that demon like creature have a certain religious connotation but I was raised in an atheist household and have no religious belief, so it's nothing like that either.

Please, if someone knows what is going on with my brain, please tell me. I'm freaking out.

Hello Caelan: I see this is your first post here on PC. Welcome to Psych Central. Here are links to the Depression & the Social Anxiety forums, here on PC, just in case you haven't already found them:

https://psychcentralforums.com/depression/

https://psychcentralforums.com/socia...ective-mutism/

We here on PC cannot offer mental health diagnoses. (For that you will need to see a mental health professional where you live or , perhaps, do some on-line therapy.) Plus I'm not a mental health professional. So I can't suggest what may be causing your "apparitions".

I have some similar experiences myself although they're not as intense as yours seem to be. Mine occur primarily at night when the house is dark & quiet. I presume mine are the result of a longstanding anxiety disorder plus I'm an older person so I presume age has something to do with it as well.

Here are links to 7 articles, from Psych Central's archives, that (hopefully) may be of some help:

Social Anxiety Overview | Psych Central

6 Ways to Overcome Social Anxiety

Treating Social Anxiety Disorder with Mindfulness

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

Yes it can be psychosis even if you know it’s happening....this can definitely happen if your depression is bad enough....but there are other possibilities that are medical in nature so you’ll want to get checked by a doc.

Anyway feel free to stop by the check in thread called roll call....a lot of us with various types of psychosis hang out there, or post here or create more threads if you want to know more. Whatever suits you best. We are all here to help.

This sounds quite a bit like some psychosis stuff I had years ago. But as suggested, you need to be sure there are no medical reasons for this first.

Hi Caelan
If they aren’t there, please don’t give them “power” by imagining it is something more. Being schizophrenic I know that is easier said than done. Our false beliefs can get the best of us. It can feed our fear.

They like the title suggests are like Demon's, they need to feed off of your responses to negative stimulus that's why the perp's use a lot of mind games, triggering and anchoring, the subtle use of innuendo, gaslighting tricks to make you question your reality.

These by default are the same occult tricks used by Witches.

Time to pile up the sand bags and get some water!

I see what your saying. They feel like demons and that is evil.

I’m not saying this to scare you but I see myself as a white witch and I don’t see myself as evil or out to hurt anyone. People do have cruel intentions in any religion..some positive..trust your intuition

Yeap. Couldn't agree more, TBH I would go as far as to say that hearing voices is what the UN has branded as Cyber Torture, or as it's termed online as gang stalking, This IS what Schizophrenia IS in reality. as my own experiences with co-existing alongside it, and of many accounts told in front of my face around a table in a coffee show, and the NEED for the opposition do conduct their little games of discrediting, running a mock of the TI explanation in order for it to be discredited as not the truth, countless fake victims all upon social media platforms, which gives it away as many victims of this would not show their faces upon theses platforms in the first place.

I think most people know this already like with COVID most people with common sense know this is a ploy or fake news.

It's just we currently live in a society that will flat earth you for saying these things in the public domain.

Things like this have happened before chid abuse is a clear open and shut one, others are more hidden amongst the woodwork due to not as much news coverage.

When this does finally tank and burst wide open, we will know just who's got brain shrinkage. Want medications were in fact cases of medical GBH, what affected or disabled person was Zersetzung out of a home due to new Atos guidelines that were not realized within reality.

Also, the live streaming almost revenge porn like humiliation game as a source of entertainment would be a form of modern slavery.

So, as I say yes these things are indeed evil and the perp's involved knowingly as bad as human traffickers, as it to add towards their own reason, logic, or amusement.

It takes someone like Nils Melzer to be brave enough to brand Cyber torture as a reality and not the result of delusional thinking, conspiracy online theories.

A lot can happen within ten years, some could say a lot all ready happen within 10 months.

Revenge for hire, via a proxy, Cyber mobbing, workplace mobbing, gang stalking, electronic harassment, conceive control are human rights abuses and not the fault of the chosen victim.

But of the mentally of the groups political, social dynamics.

Hi Shane,
Sorry just saying this because I want to know the truth too. Do you think that all schizophrenics are being gang stalked?

I mean if it’s the truth your searching for, a few schizophrenics have had accidents or brain injuries that can trigger symptoms. I feel like mine was from an brain injury. I’ve also have had some experience with technology that makes me trust no one because I know they have cruel intentions and they just want to get away with it.

I guess I’m in the middle.
