Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else feels like their general level of happiness has taken a hit these days. I know it's the middle of a pandemic. I just feel like my happiness has gotten destroyed these days. It's just so odd, how circumstances like these can get rid of people's happiness, including mine. It doesn't feel like depression either, it's just overall unhappiness. I don't know what it is.

Is there any way you all have found to cope with feelings like these? I am interested because I am currently apparently not doing enough to curb these feelings and I'd like to do more in order to help myself.

For myself my faith helps me. It gives meaning to my life. And also practicing daily gratitude for what I do have in this life despite the current circumstances in the world. I’m not sure why but that really helps me a lot. I don’t know if it would help others but thought I’d mention it.

Other things I do: hobbies I enjoy. Reading, playing ukulele, playing video games, etc. basically doing things that bring me joy, not only a good distraction but also make me happy.

Talking to friends and family, staying connected.

Sorry if none of this helps or answers your question.

Hello, I have had some difficult days especially in March and April. I'm coping better now.. My basic unhappiness stemmed from on fear of the virus. I studied all available resources and the more I educated myself, the less afraid I was. When I started seeing some really old people survive the disease. I thought maybe I could too. I feel less afraid and consequently more happy. I'm still not crazy about my living situation but it could be worse.

Is there anything in your life that provides even a transient feeling of joy?

I usually do the pick three when I notice anything slightly off....pick three fun things and do them all at once.

Yes, I suppose when I am writing and listening to music I feel at least a little bit of joy. I guess it's just hard to give myself permission to do those things, you know? It's hard to give myself permission to do things that bring me joy.
