Hello everybody.
I am a schizophrenic with ocs and after 5 years from my first active symptoms , i have recovered a lot. The problem i have now is slight avolition or by other definition lack of motivation to do tasks that have an end goal. My doctor said that i should practice mental ergotherapy eather alone or with a psychologists. Can you please share your experience with this deficit ? |

Yeah I struggle with lack of motivation also. Some things I just make myself do like when it comes to going to work. I have to work to pay my bills so I make myself. Other things like getting a shower, I pretty much have a deal with myself that I will shower every 2 or 3 days. Then other things like clean my room....yeah that like never happens...well it does occasionally but not as much as I should. So I guess it just depends on the task. I used to be more motivated to read and things of that nature but lost all that motivation once I was started on an AP. It's really hard for me to read nowadays. I do read the Bible but to sit and read a book, its no longer something I enjoy. Even though I used to before being put on an anti psychotic.

I deal with this all the time. I have found something called sarcosine to be very helpful with this. You might read about it. Hugs.

Maybe find something that inspires you, this could be a new career or a love interest that you have, or it could be a passion in life may it be creative writting or to practice the Arts like painting or music, or study your symptoms and become active.
Even after the COVID thing has passed people still need to live, you still have time, as do I. When someone propositions you with the offense that you are late, remind them later for what ! Nothing, happen's before it's time,, |
