Hello all.

I was diagnosed SZ back in 2003 and had a really hard time with it for a while. Finally I got on Risperdal and my symptoms have all but vanished. I look forward to sharing my experiences with everyone.

i still hear the good words and the bad words and planning to help me and family. i hear them all the time , every second .it never ends. the voices are helpful most of the time but when another comes in, don't listen.been there.. TRUETH. learn to meditate. go to bed or sit down somewhere and calm your minds. just ,,try to bring all talking together. it is hard(for me tonight especially) but let the voice that YOU know will hurt you go away or let that voice go unto an object the dispose of it in a ceremony.(i did my 8th voice) tonight for me REALY bad . i do not want to hurt anyone so as i try to help you, i help myself. i will media .gn and may my bad dreams not haunt you.

Dear Budweiser,

I had problems with hearing voices in the past and I found that the best way to get rid of them is to just completely ignore them!! Don't do what they tell you to do!! If you don't acknowledge them at all, they diminish greatly, at least mine did. Don't believe anything they say either!! I found that in my case, the voices were my own thoughts and were usually expressions of my own fears or insecurities. When I chose to ignore them and not acknowledge them anymore, I wasn't re-inforcing that kind of annoying mode of functioning my mind had started taking on due to my schizophreniform disorder, and the voices just stopped. Also, I have found reading to really help because when my mind focuses on a subject completely unrelated to my own thoughts, it makes me more mentally well. Talking with others and socializing also helps my mind stay well. Hope your voices stop soon!! (And know that they really can!)

Hi Garfield,

Your post interested me because I had similar thoughts last year whilst suffering from severe audio, visual and tactile hallucinations (as theyre called in the shrink's book). It got me wondering if we are actually in a half dream-like state. How many people actually dream of people talking to them in their sleep? Lots I bet. I even wondered if the abusive people that were talking to me were talking to me whilst in their sleep. How bizarre is that. But when you think about it, its quite feasible isnt it?

Frown Re: Welcome to our Schizophrenia and Psychosis Support Forum!

My Psyquiatrist is giving me for my Schizophrenia diagnosis lots of medication, in this past month he has giving me to take Risperdal 2mg,Zyprexa 10mg,Haldol 5mg,Pamelor 75mg,Ambien 10mg,Benadryl 50mg,Lexapro 20mg,Prosom 2mg,Amantadine 100mg,Dalmane 30mg,Klonopin 2 mg and Ativan 2mg for my condition and I have had a lot of severe side effects from taking them, sometimes I am afraid when I take them because I have problems with my intestines and I think it may be a reasult from taking too much Risperdal and Dalmane.
