I have schitzophrenia and schitzoaffective, bi polar, depression, and am on 9 meds to control it.I am on meds for over 40 years now im 53 now. It took that long to find the right meds too. I have hallucinations and hear voices. still. I was in several accidents which i think caused my mental problems as i had head injuries too. I wish you luck

Hi I'm new. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2004 but never told why and I didn't really remember anything, so I always just denied it. Lately though I've been wondering and started looking at videos about it on youtube and it helped me remember some stuff and also realise that some things I did and do are actually symptoms. I thought it was just me! I'm glad I'm not alone here anymore. It does all add up and make sense now. I just got my meds increased yesterday due to paranoia, suicidal thoughts etc coming back. I hope having this forum will help as it wasn't talked about much on the site I used to be on. I hate all the stigma around the name schizophrenia, I'm still normal, no one would ever guess unless they could read my mind. My best friend says it's no big deal, I wish more people thought that way. If it helps anyone, my old psych said it was just a label so they know how to treat me. Well I look forward to maybe getting to know some of you

Thanks Doc John...i am having trouble in the chat rooms for emotional support as the moderator insists that I accept his "help" by telling me to move on when he knows nothing of the situation in total...it has been less than helpful..is there somewhere else I could get the support I need..? There is a legal tangle that is also keeping me apart from my schizo phrenic boyfriend that no one seems to get..l.its not about him not caring its about his paranoia and his delusions that he will be responsible for our demise if he is with us..it is so lonely and painful..he thinks he is protecting us when we are feeling abandoned and lonely for him...he has no one to help him as he lives alone and is alienated from his step son who has CP...thanks for any help...I cry all day every day as does my son as he was the DAD he never had and the husband I never had and I have had two...thanks for any help....

Yikes that is awful..I was on it and it didn't work for me...I just have depression but they misdiagnosed me with delusional disorder because I believed that my schizophrenic boyfriend still loved me...he files an injunction against me to keep me away from him as he thought he would cause something bad to happen to me..anyway Ihope the seroquel works for you..it caused me to be drugged out and changed my personality completely...in a way it felt good not tohave the pain anymore but it wasn't me or for me..good luck...

My boyfriend filed an injunction against me which was withdrawn but it has caused me a lot of pain...the judge made us promise not to see each other but I found out later that he wanted us to have no contact..That doesn't work for me..I cry all day every day and just lie in bed all day...I miss him so very very much. But I am still emailing him and will be emailing him in a few weeks..the psychiatrist toldme to tell him how sad I am and how much I miss him but not to tell him how badly he hurt me as that would make his delusion more fixed....I just am not sure but all I know is that this man is the sweetest person I have ever known and certainly the only man who loved and accepted me for who I am just as I am...we connected on so many levels, emotional and spiritual..we never even kissed as I didn't let him but he told me he was deeply in love with me three times....more than he had been with his wife....I just want him back so very very badly..

Good for you that you are getting or got help! Yes it is just a label....and you are ahead of the game by getting help..so many don't have the insight you have like my boyfriend and now we are not allowed to see each other..its a big mess and i am so sad not to see him but this didn't have to happen if only he would have gotten help like you are getting...keep on keeping on...

Is there a way to break a paranoid schizophrenic out of his delusion that being with me will cause me to die? He refuses to communicate with me or my son and very firmly believes that if we are together we will die just like his family did....I am not doing very well trying to cope with this....a psychiatrist said that contacting him too often willtend to make that delusion more fixed but i miss him terribly and cry all the time...the missing is a lot worse now than even a month ago...

Not sure how to deal with the terrible silence from my Paranoid schizophrenic boyfriend...I am pining away from him being gone....he keeps his emails unblocked but never responds...I don't feel like living anymore...I am 65 and he was the best thing that had ever happened to me but now he is gone....and I don't know if he will ever be back..he has or had the delusion that I would die if he was with me so he disappeared....I am so very very sad....his caring is so misguided and now we cannot see each other for another eight months...I don't know how to continue getting through the days...I miss him so much...every day is so very sad...I have nothing to live for or look forward to anymore...

How come my schizophrenic boyfriend dropped me when the voices got bad? The psyciatrist said not to email him much as this would make the delusions worse..we hung out daily for 6-7 months and now I never hear from him...I am so sad and confused..

No, brain in psychosis isn't half asleep necesseary.

Some theories says that it poisones itself by LSD-like substance called LSD-25.

In adition there are chambers in brain, and these chamber in schizophrenics are smaller than usual. They blikk with their eyes more regularily than healthy people.

I don't know what to do anymore
I am finding it hard to function at a reasonable level
I'm at war with the voices in my head yelling me a little bit of everything. Can't sleep can't function as a dad I'm losing grip on reality and can't talk to any one

Hello. I'm glad to be here. Thank You for the forum. It's quite relaxing here. I'm a diagnosed Paranoid Schizophrenia. I'm ok, your ok. I wish there was a cure. I lived a very productive life before my illness. Marriage, kids, business, volunteered, and went to a university. I started a mental illness awareness blog. It has a lot of good stuff on schizophrenia. I'm still dealing with a lot o f stigma but I felt the need to share.

my boyfriend abruptly came out of psychosis and thinks we are still in a relationship a year and a half after he ditched me and heard voices telling him to kill people. We are moving to Israel and recently in court he tried to talk to me and the judge told me he could under no circimstances have anything to do with me or I could go to jail. This is a good judge. He had filed the IAH on me that was unwarraented as I was trying to see how he was doing and letting him know how I felt, sad, depressed etc but now he thinks we are still together and we are moving out of the country. How can I get help for him? I told the superior court he was hearing voices telling him to kill people is this enough to get him committed? He is threatening to kill people.

I would like to know that he is getting the help he needs because I don't want him to get killed or hurt others....he seemed so confused etc and wanted to be with me. My son said he actually wanted to work things out with me. NO WAY JOSE! NOT UNLESS HE GETS MEDS AND PERMANENT HELP!

I was misdiagnosed for years with major depression and I come to find out I have a mild form of this and I am taking a generic Thorazine that helps a lot...I don't have hallucinations just flat emotions and disinterest in everything...do most people use therapy or meds or both or what...I am very confused right now
