They say that Schizotypals are weird or eccentric so I was wondering how this comes across with you?
For me there are a few obvious things. I always wear the same colour (black) and very rarely take my sunglasses off even at night. I wear several necklaces at any one time (at the minute there are six) all charms and amulets doing various things. I often and am currently wearing a copper torc with runes inscribed in it. I do eccentric things such as buying something for myself, something I really want and then giving it away two weeks later. I do this especially if it is expensive. I am obsessed with a few things including an avid interest in the occult and magic. This comes across in my choice of books and topics of conversation. I have an odd tendency to say the wrong thing or just things that don't tally correctly. Hm I know there are other things but unfortunately I can't think of any more right now. __________________ Who do you call when you're losing your mind? It seems to me that you have habits and interests that are quite different from mine. But to my mind that doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. It means we are not the same person. I think there is far too much emphasis in the diagnostic world on being 'normal' as in literally conforming to the 'norm'. As in being like everyone else in our thoughts and actions. If any of what you described is creating problems for you, then maybe there s something to look at in terms of change. But if the only problem is that you worry that you are weird, I say stop worrying and enjoy the things you enjoy, believe the things you believe and let the 'normals' bore each other to death!

Heh! I like what ripley said.
 I've been told I'm eccentric and people have said I'm "out of touch", or at times "immature" or "a bit different". I struggle to make genuine "connections" with others..... I get nervous when they want to get closer. And I almost always steer clear of "drama"-- just don't understand it.(kind of frightening) I like to wear bright colors... love bright greens, pinks and purples. (i'm small framed and thin so I can even get clothes in the girls dept.-where there are bright colors) And I like to wear lots of bracelets. .... it's not what most women my age are wearing. but-- I don't care what anyone else is wearing-- I like what I like. I also say the wrong things at times and can stumble in social situations.... ugh.... I get frustrated at myself. I am VERY intuned to peoples moods and body language and can pick up their feelings by subtle gestures-- that most people say they never noticed. thanks for this thread I wish more people were around this forum....... *sigh*...... fins |

lol I was the same in highschool.
I always dressed in black and had every color hair imaginable. I behave pretty weird too. I don't talk alot and when people talk to me I always look like I'm in space. I gave up on talking to people and so the only person I talk to now is my bf and he gets mad at me and says all I do is make stupid noises, I understand his frustration, but the animal noises are because I don't know what to say, I have alot yet nothing on my mind. you know? __________________ "Tear down the wall"  |

Greetings fellow "Eccentric(s)"- I too, have been labled as such. I have seen the so called magick, been known to dress as I please (not considered the norm) and have some not-so-normal traits and habits. But, I am me, and I like me, except when I get consistantly beat up for not being "normal". If it wasn't for the eccentrics, history would be boring and what sort of future would there be?!
