At the university I work at, students can do this WAY past the regular withdrawal deadline. It saves their GPA in case they want to try again at a later date when they are healthier. I think they receive Ws instead of Fs.

Thanks, everyone, for your support and encouragement. I'm feeling a little better this afternoon. I'm going to talk to my psychiatrist tomorrow to see if she can write me a letter supporting a medical withdrawal from the university. I sure hope she says yes!
