This is getting really frustrating. Stayed at my grandparents' till today and yesterday, my grandma was asking me what I want to do next, work or study further. When I said that I wanted to work and see where I'll go from there, she was a little insistent on studying a little more. As much I appreciate that, I'm not that smart. Forget smart, I'm not even close to normal intelligence. It takes me ten times the effort just to be on par with something that that's easy for other people. I just can't process and think as fast as normal people.I try to explain that to her(not the last two sentences) and she says "Just because things went bad this time, doesn't mean that they go bad everytime, does it?".

But she doesn't get the point. I'm not smart. And with my luck, there's no doubt that things will be atleast as bad as this time. There's no point trying. I'll just be a complete failure in another country or city. Why doesn't she understand that? It's just not worth it. I'M just not worth it. I just hope they realize that in time; before it's too late. I know they say that everyone has a strength, but I just don't.

well, I would support you to decide to work. School is not the only place to learn sth. You can learn from the working environment too. And sometimes working is a good stimulus for some ppl to study further
Go with your choice and be responsible with it ^_^ good luck

Please don't sell yourself short . You might be smarter than you think. Can you go to work and maybe take a class or two at the same time?

I am not much smart either but there's difference between being just smart and having other things, such as networking, experience, having the ambition to work hard enough and rare but useful skills

You perceive yourself as not being smart? That's completely okay, but remember your brain is not static. You can, and should be, continuously improving yourself for your own sake. Learn new skills, do whatever it takes for a better future.

you know, people who've got a lot of doubts, usually smarter and better than they think. the idea of work is great, because practical skills are cool, but don't hesitate that you're smart. you know, if you don't believe in yourself, nobody can do it for you. I hope you can believe in yourself and everything will be fine

I do not want to belittle your frustrations. But by defintion half of all the people are below average intelligence, doesn't mean they're doomed to unhappy unsuccesful lives. Intelligence is an ill defined, and overvalued concept. You seem reluctant to continue your education, that means that education is probably a bad idea for you now. If you're not motivated to receive education, it won't stick. And education (in one form or another) will always be there if you choose to pursue it.
I would strongly encourage you to seek opportunities for learning though. Those can be from practical one-the-job opportunities, or pursued in your free time. Find something you're excited to learn about (doesn't matter what it is), and learn about it. Train your brain in processing new information and ideas. And never allow yourself to doubt your ability to do so.
