Ever since school shut because of the pandemic I've been having problems keeping up with the work which 4 weeks ago my parents found out because the school emailed them about how badly I was doing and to add to it THEY OBVIOUSLY had to say that I was doing the worst in my year! So the school came to an agreement that I should have a fresh start next week and only have a break for just the weekend despite the fact that my I've had family issues, a bad self-esteem for whenever I have to go out for a dog walk in public, my grandad dying, stress from school and more . Right now my reports going to be sent to my parents either on Friday or Sunday this week and I've still been having lack of motivation problems, still not coping that well and have barely been able to do any work, so my report is probably going to be filled with loads of d's which is the worst you can get and my mum will have a mega freakout! I know this because earlier this year in my previous reports my mum went crazy if I even got a couple of c's in my report which is meant to mean that the work is SATISFACTORY but she still freaked out then acting like I'm some kind of problemed child! Does anyone have any advice for what I should do?

Hi KesTheDog. I am sorry to hear you face challenges in school. Hope you find a way to get back on track.

What about contacting your school adviser and ask them what options are available to you?

Hi, KesTheDog, and welcome to Psych Central! I also suggest talking to the school counselor, but I think you should also talk to them about what you told us---for example, family issues and your grandad dying.

Would your mom be the least bit understanding if you told her some of your personal issues?

Would a tutor help? Telling a friend to call you about getting your work done and being supportive of you?

Let us know how it goes.
