I've heard that self-help books are for strivers that, basically, don't know what they are talking about because they might not be qualified to talk about it. I wanted to start a chat about them. I've started to listen to a podcast that revolves around two women trying out one self-help book per week and seeing what that brings to their lives. Sometimes they seem inspiring but, hey, it's their own career that is probably driving them a bit harder to say certain things. I was wondering about a couple of things:
Recommendations? Favorites? Have you ever read one and then been inspired to perform it out yourself? I've only read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and wanted to try it myself. This year wasn't a good year to try it out because I read it too late last year and would like to learn a bit more about the subject. I would also like to read some fiction and nonfiction about happiness. Have you ever read this book? I totally recommend it! I loved it. |
