Default Going to do things my own way from now on.

I've decided that from now on, I am going to do things my own way. While I am not going to quit PC and I am unlikely ever going to delete my account (unless I want to start fresh for whatever reason), I am going to greatly limit my time here and I am only going to log in to either check up on friends I have on here or to occasionally help somebody else out. The reason is because I am unlikely to listen to any advice anyways and I don't wish to waste people's time or start drama.

Also, due to the rather poorly implemented ignore feature, I am not getting the most out of this site since so many people have me blocked that I can't even reply on a lot of the lighthearted fun threads in the general forum since a lot of the people that start those threads have me on ignore. Yeah I know I was a mean nasty person during my first 1-2 years on here and I do truly regret some of the hurtful things I've said but I've changed since then and I am legitimately trying to be a kinder person and I'm working on learning from my mistakes but it's clear that I'll be punished indefinitely without any chance of making amends to those I hurt all because I was in a very dark place back then so I'm choosing the next best option for myself.

With that being said, I'm going to treat my mental health issues my own way. I'm not taking any psyche meds ever again for my own reasons (I understand they're for some people but not for me). I am going to focus on better dieting, exercising, mediation, and more "natural" ways of treating my issues. I'm practicing mindfulness and I'm working on stopping my negative thinking on my own and focusing on my goals and aspirations in life. I am done accepting the fact that my anxiety issues limit me from ever getting a driver's license and I am going to push through and get my license, even if I have to spend so much money on private training that I get myself into debt in the process. Once I get my driver's license I will live cheaply and save my money and get a tiny house so I don't have to work full time to pay rent/house payments and I can get the freedom that I so desire.

People might think I'm wrong but I've always been better at learning on my own and finding my own solutions to my issues. An example that comes to mind is when I was a kid I tried to take a keyboarding class. Because I couldn't learn the way they wanted me to I did so poorly in the class that they told me I would never be able to type. Guess what? I learned my own way and I now type 80 words per minute.

This is my choice. I'm not hurting at all when I type this. In fact, I've been in a good mood all day.

Thanks for reading.

I wish you all the best! I feel you're on the right path to healing. I hope it works for you. I don't know about the issues you've had here and why people seem to avoid you. I only remember you from the thread about the narcissist disorder. I believe everyone can change if they truly want to.
I also absolutely understand the inclination to self study. I'm the same way.
I wish you good luck on your journey and hope 2019 will be a positive year for you.

I simply had a lot of anger issues and would lash out at people if they told me something I didn't want to hear. If somebody tried to stand up to me, well I would name call and bring them down with petty insults.

I was somebody who didn't want the truth if the truth was in any way inconvenient or painful.

I want to use this site for my own personal growth. I can't do that when I have to be reminded of how much of a prick I was every time I get the dreaded "Unable to reply to thread because so and so member has you on ignore" message. Heck, even seeing some of the threads made by some of these members is triggering in itself. I feel like a child who is left out of a party. I also don't know if I should do something as pity as delete my account and start anew to circumvent the ignores.

I think there is a rule in place about certain areas in PC such as General Social Chat and Games where one is not supposed to begin a thread when they have members on ignore. A moderator would, in turn need to close that thread and begin a new one.

I think it would be OK to create a new profile. In fact I thought you could do it before I read your post. Like a new beginning of new you. It could be a healing experience.

That seems like a bit of a cop out.

I don't see why they can't make the ignore feature work on here like it does other places: if somebody has you on ignore you ignore them too and you see no more threads or posts created by them or any thanks/hugs given out by them. Such a rule would make things easier for everybody. People on ignore wouldn't have to see threads that may trigger them and people who have to put somebody on ignore wouldn't be penalized at all.

I can't be the only one who gets upset by things like this.

Still good to know though.

Good point.

Even the name "DarknessIsMyFriend" doesn't really represent who I am now.

I'll consider it.

I don't write the rules. So I wasn't replying as some representative of PC...
If you are blocked by someone who is creating game threads or posting in an "every member" section...report them.

Just thew that last comment out as a suggestion more than anything.

Might make a thread about it in the community feedback forum.

The ignore feature is indeed an often broached topic of discussion. I have a love/hate relationship with it, myself. So, I can certainly relate to your frustrations on a personal level.
