i first read about this a couple of months ago and have been hinking about trying it. i never did until i was in crisis last week and it actually worked pretty well!
i tend to oversleep, but it was surprisingly easy to stay awake through the night. the following day was pleasant: no suicidal thoughts and no crying which was a HUGE change for me. I stayed up for a total of maybe...40 hours? i'm not sure anymore, but towards the end of those i became so tired that i started feeling "high". it was pretty fun tbh. after that i slept for about 10 hours and had another nap right afterwards.
the article mentions that the probability of relapsing is 95% when you go to sleep again, but i was feeling ok the following day. my mood has worsened over the last couple of days, and today i'm feeling veeery low again, so i'll just just stay up another night.

sooo i just wanted to share this and maybe see how many of you have tried this or will try it.

I understand the idea in theory. The nights I have been too wound up to sleep I get that "second wind" energy buzz and am able to go all the next day. But for me, it only takes one night of no sleep to have me walk the edge of emotional overload. I get weepy and cranky and tired after that so 40 hours to me seems crazy.

Sounds like a bad idea, sleep deprivation makes more me depressed because it saps the enormous amount of energy it takes just to stay functioning and maintain my coping mechanisms.

Same. My experience is that it makes my symptoms x10 worse and I can't bring myself to do anything.
