Default How can I overcome my fear of living alone.

Hello. How can I overcome my fear of living alone, and paying for everything on my own. Til I was 26, my parents helped out. Then I moved in with my boyfriend. I struggle with anxiety and depression. I can work, and do work, but often require a lot of reassurance as I struggle with feeling confident. Thank you for sharing any ideas you may have.

I too feared living alone. With family support and group therapy, individual therapy, and a community room. It's going well. I'm happy in my apartment by myself. It's subsidized so rent is affordable and I'm ok.

I think seeing others succeed will help you succeed. Also join group, or organizations that get you socializing with peers.

I am kind of with you on this. Yet another idea I have for a business that I can't do because I work... I feel like a lot of us didn't get taught how to take care of ourselves like other generations did. My mom never taught me.

This has caused and still causes a lot of anxiety in me and it isn't fair. There is no place to learn these skills. I have looked.

My mom never had a dishwasher so I was kind of afraid of that.
My mom never had a washer and dryer so I also feel unfamiliar with that.
My mom hardly ever cooked and didn't teach me.. so most of what I have learned has been from the internet.

I am on a condo board and so many times we get questions from people because they just don't understand their own home. It is too bad. But I feel like it has taken me forever to figure my home out.

I have a zillion skills for work and ever day there are new offerings for work... but home... forget about it.

I would like to offer a class at my local adult learning place but the thing is... I don't know this stuff.
