I am setting a goal today that I want to do volunteer work at Thanksgiving and Christmas from now on.

I already regularly do volunteer work through out the year but it’s not related to the holidays.

This has been the hardest Thanksgiving ever for me so far. I don’t want to be like this. I am sinking and I’ve got to pull myself out of this. I can’t look to anyone else to do it for me.

Since I love volunteer work, I will start there. I am going to look into nursing homes or battered women’s shelters.

Anybody else have ideas for volunteer work at the holidays? My city already has so many people who volunteer at soup kitchens and feeding the homeless - there’s a waiting list for volunteers there so I will look for other ideas.

"I can't look to anyone else to do it for me"

This rings true for me. Thank you!

Try going to good banks and seeing if there is some thing there.

I love this!! It's a Great idea!! I wonder about what babies need, like newborn blankets or something along that line. You know how we see some pictures of babies in cute holiday outfits? I haven't had my coffee yet, I am rambling, LOL

I found some programs today that I am interested in. One is an animal sanctuary and the other is a children’s organization. The Food Bank is also looking for volunteers all the time so that’s another option.

Food bank! I hadn't thought about a food bank. Thank you for posting this, @LilyMop
