I'm so completely stressed out and overwhelmed by events and a family crisis in my life. Self-harm is both a stress relief pressure valve and a means of externalizing emotional pain. I haven't done anything yet. It's been a while since I have. But I want to so so much. I cannot deal with things. Would it really be such a bad thing if I'm careful?

You should avoid if possible. Is tough disfigurement habit to drop. I cut my thighs and under side of breasts so not noticeable when stressing. breast bleed best relief

I'm sorry that you are struggling right now! I do understand how you are feeling! I try to think about the physical health problem I will have later on!

Please avoid doing it.I have carried overwhelming emotional pain since my childhood. The thought of releasing a bit of it through creating a physical pain as a distraction, crossed my mind, but never acted on it.I know my cousin did it( she showed me her scars that were under her clothes,so many of them.).It was scary scene and may be that is why I I didn't. BUT I am constantly looking for ways to reduce my emotional pain, mostly alternate healing techniques and self soothing and positive distractions like art and craft.

Grrr.... I agree. I also have carried overwhelming emotional pain since childhood. It’s better to find alternative ways of .........somehow managing this.... and possibly feeling better...... than SI
