Hi there!

I need a thread where I can just get things off my chest without making separate post everything I need to vent. I thought maybe others would find it useful as well. Hope this helps at least a little!

I'll go first....I'm very upset that my boss scheduled me for a weekday that I specifically said I needed off every week. I am feeling really triggered and my urges are spiking. I have my therapist and pdoc appointment that day which I can not reschedule. I hate this. I narrowly got through the last two days fighting the urges and now they are getting stronger. I don't know what to do.

Thanks for listening!

Thanks for posting this. I wish I had some words of wisdom to offer in terms of what to do to fight the urges you're having. Unfortunately I don't. In my own case, I'm an old man. (Well sort-of... it's complicated.) And despite being way old enough to know better, a little while back I started self-harming again for no particularly good reason that I can think of.

I knew what I was doing was a very bad idea. But I went ahead & did it anyway which caused some additional injury to what is already an untreatable condition I'll have for the rest of my life. It just seems like these urges to self-harm never really go away. (At least that's how it feels to me.) I presume the "answer" to these sorts of urges is to use grounding techniques. There's a list of grounding techniques here in the Self-Injury forum I believe. If you're not familiar with them you might take a look at the list. Best wishes...

Hey @smmath I'm sorry you are triggered. That sucks about being scheduled on a day that you said you couldn't work. I hope your urges settle down a bit. Mine are activated too. Trying to breathe and stuff like that. It sucks basically. HUGS Kit
