Hi friends,
Does anyone else have scars that hurt? I don't mean wounds, I mean scars. Also my scars itch. Not all of them but newer ones or keloid ones. And the ones I am talking about are approximately 6 months old or older. Just wondered if it was just me, or if anyone else had this experience. Sometimes I will use a heating pad or an ice pack on my scars, or I will bandage them with an ace bandage just to try to get relief from the pain. It's like it radiates from the scars. Anyone else? Hi, Kit! I think maybe you can ask your doctor about adhesions? They can be very painful, & sometimes a doctor or surgeon can fix the problem. I hope your doctor can help you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Hugs!

I have one hypertrophic scar that on occasion hurts me. It feels like a stabbing pain. This scar (like the rest of them) is over 20 years old. I think it is due to the way it healed.

Hi, Kit,
I have the same problem. My keloid and hypertrophi scars itch and hurt frequently. I consulted a doctor and I'm on corticoids treatment to start to reduce them and stop the pain, but I just started and she told me that it would take months to feel or see any difference. Maybe you should ask your doctor what can you do about them. Hope you are ok. |
