I remember being jealous of kids whose families went to drive in movies---kids in pjs... ...later, there was "making out" at the drive-in __________________ "...don't say Home / the bones of that word mend slowly...' marie harris |

The blizzard of '66 in upstate New York & helping dig a snowplow out of the ditch they drove into (after the storm had cleared) because they couldn't tell where the road was.

The white go-go boots came into fashion when I was about 4 or 5. (I'm on the border between Boomer and Gen-X.) I wanted those boots desperately, so my older sister bought some for me __________________ |

Elephant pants were wide from the hip down---very wide
I wanted the go go boots but then went for the fringed moccasins, beads, .. Buttons---political and otherwise -- The other day I rode by a building with faded "Redemption Center" sign---S&H Green Stamps anyone? __________________ "...don't say Home / the bones of that word mend slowly...' marie harris |

learning Penmanship (I am trying to remember the specific style we were taught---Palmer method I think [and how I envied Michelle W. whose handwriting was perfect]. In grade school we had to write a letter each year, to be judged on penmanship alone as the letter were copied and sent to the principal. (I am thinking that my grade school principal must have had a life story to tell---being one of the few women to hold onto her position after WWII and the push to send women back to the home...)

yeah-------now I remember, my initial penmanship was bad enough in 4th grade I was demoted to use of a pencil
Not good enough for the waste of a pen I guess. __________________ "...don't say Home / the bones of that word mend slowly...' marie harris |
