I think the candy bar was called 7-up it was chocolate divided into 5 or 7 equal parts Carmel, cherry, chocolate, don't remember the rest but I loved that candy bar.

I remember a few of these. But most of them I don't think I ever heard of. Maybe some of them were after my time? One thing I can recall liking that was not on the list was red licorice.

What candy do you remember, Skeez? Some of these came out when I was older, not a little kid.

I looked it up it was the 7-up bar got bought up in the 70's and shut down. That was sad cause it was great. Another one I recall wasn't candy but was, was marketed as a breakfast was space sticks, breakfast of astronauts. Came in chocolate, vanilla, Carmel and strawberry. Still it couldn't have been worse than sugared cereals. There was space ice cream too. It was a fun time to be a kid.

I know there aren't many guys participating on this thread, but the flat pieces of gum that came in packages of baseball cards were a treat...If only because they came with the cards. It was kind of exciting buying a pack of cards, because you never knew which players you might get.

They also had other categories besides baseball. I got the science ones and future ones. Had pictures of flying cars, space packs and round skyscrapers. I had all the planets on the backs were the stats. What the planet was made up of and how much a 6 foot 200lb man would weigh on the planet. Poor Pluto, not a planet any more.

www.oldtimecandy.com I love looking at this site. Brings back mucho memories......lol. Last year I was searching for Beamens and Black Jack gum and even the store is having a hard time finding it. Every once in a while they get some in stock but when they do it is only a limited quantity and they said it goes quickly.

Michael's sometimes has old-fashioned candy and gum as well as Cracker Barrel.
I'll have to try those Boston Baked Beans. Anybody remember wax "candy" such as wax lips and wax mustaches? They were good to chomp on. |

I didn't like the wax stuff, not even the wax bottles filled with colored sugar water.
