Just read that the heatwave we are having in the uk is to last another month at least.
I know everyone wants good weather, or it seems so.

I find the heat exhausting and I don’t like it ! There are many reasons I dislike it, social anxiety means I’m not keen on lots of people around and sun brings out people 😩 my neighbours in the garden when I do venture out is a big fear of mine as they are so nosey..
Everywhere is busy or so it seems.
It makes me feel so anxious.....

I used to be a sun worshipper, now I prefer winter...how I have changed

Hope everyone else is ok with it....

The day before yesterday, the "feels like" temperature (air temp + humidity) in the Twin Cities was 43.3 degrees C.! It was a bit cooler yesterday. Today it's raining. I prefer rain myself. But I guess it doesn't really matter. We have central air & I don't go anywhere anyway. When the weather is too hot, too cold, rainy or snowy it does make getting our pooch out for his daily walks more challenging. My favorite time of year is autumn.

apparently we survived our heat wave, it was historical~! for this date we met the 25 yr high and the next day was the hottest on record. it's bad enough that we only got 10% of our moisture this winter and spring; the forest is a tenderbox~! there are fires on both sides of me, 2 of them only about 80 miles to the west, the smoke is a ring around the moon... which is better than the other 2 fires a couple of weeks ago, which actually traveled up-river and up the highway corridor to town. it looked like doomsday downtown, ash and smoke.

well, i'm hoping we survive the summer~! i'm staying pretty cool, because this high in the mountains it gets cool at night, in the 50's so far; i open up the doors and windows, and the little raccoon who learned to ring my door bell tried to come in the house~ there was no more food on the porch. the little critters are eating here without their mothers... i had no idea they were tossed out so young,,, i don't actually think they should be.....

well, that's my story and i'm sticking to it~!

Summer is rough for me, too.
Today was over 100 degrees again (I think that's about 37 Celsius), very hot, extremely dry. Wildfires are burning in various locations, the closest one being about 25 miles from my town. The smoke is very thick and if ash isn't falling yet, it will soon.

Hi Laurie,
Yes that sounds awful. Sorry to hear about the wildfires 😞
And the heat you have is much hotter than here in uk,
I shouldn’t complain. It’s so much worse for others.
I guess I’m just not used to the heat at all..

Hooe you have a peaceful day and that fire not far away is distinguished ..well all the fires.
Best wishes to you

I don't like hot weather either and found Florida unbearable. I'm not one of those seniors who wants to retire there.

Yes, those fires are terrible. We saw the results when we went to Yellowstone awhile back.

Today is lovely, but this week-end will be very hot with a dry, hot wind. The fire that is now burning 20 miles from my town has spread to three times the size of San Francisco. The fire has burned some of the most beautiful land I've ever seen. Cars in town are covered with ash...I dunno; I'm worn down this week. Feeling very anxious, depressed and discouraged. In addition, my therapist lives right smack in the middle of the fire zone. I'm quite sure she's been evacuated. I have called the clinic several times to find out if they've heard from her. Someone always says they'll call me back with information, but no one ever does. Very frustrating all the way around.

Oh Laurie I was so sad to read this...
Burning beautiful land 😞 I’m sorry..
No wonder you feel anxious and depressed.
I hope things improve very soon..

i made the mistake of going cycling today wearing a Hi Vis fluorescent yellow T Shirt and now am being chased across the countryside by swarms of pollen beetles wanting to pollinate me.

Clearly it is HiVis for beetles!
