Anybody remember raking a big pile of leaves and then jumping in them? That was fun!

That’s fun on a dry day, not on a rainy day or after several rainy days.

That was a hoot...I loved doing that. I grew up in the city, & at that time you could burn your leaves in the street. I loved that smell! They prohibited leaf burning many years ago, though.

Yup Twas fun. We burned our leaves in a burning barrel, not sure what happened to those as I didn't see them anymore. Probably a law against it now. Everyone collects their leaves with riding mowers then carts em to a land fill.

Oh, yes. The hard work of raking the yard was worth the fun of jumping in the leaves.

I had friends who piled leaves on top of a large rock & convinced one guy's younger brother to jump in the pile. Funny in retrospect, but pretty mean, I guess.

I dimly recall doing this when I was still a young'un. But now all I can manage to think about is how much icky stuff would be lurking in all those leaves...

I don't think I jumped in leaves, but I liked to crunch through them. I loved the color and the sound they made.

It was so much fun! We had a picnic table and would jump from it into the leaves. When we finished playing, we'd rake the leaves into a ditch (we lived in the country) and daddy would burn them. One of my childhood autumn memories is the smell of burning leaves in the air as we traveled the neighborhood on foot doing our "trick or treat" style review for Halloween. It was safe then as most everyone in the neighborhood knew who you were and who your parents were. And we knew who gave what in our bags to tell our parents when we got home. Not only that, but most goodies were homemade or fresh fruits and nuts. Great memories.
