Is this something that just happens as we get older? Or is there a deeper reason for it? For me it seems like it has gotten worse as I have gotten older. I have paths throughout my house and often trip over things. If it's a deeper issue where do you find help with it?

Hoarding has never been an issue for me. In fact I've actually gotten rid of things I later wished I had kept. But also my wife is a person who doesn't save anything she doesn't think she needs.
There are articles, in PsychCentral's archives, on the subject of hoarding. We now have lots of stuff from our parents, so there's a lot of it sitting around taking up space in our house and garage. And some of it I don't want to part with, even though I don't really need it, so I guess there's a bit of hoarding going on.
