Is this something that just happens as we get older? Or is there a deeper reason for it? For me it seems like it has gotten worse as I have gotten older. I have paths throughout my house and often trip over things. If it's a deeper issue where do you find help with it?

Hoarding has never been an issue for me. In fact I've actually gotten rid of things I later wished I had kept. But also my wife is a person who doesn't save anything she doesn't think she needs.

There are articles, in PsychCentral's archives, on the subject of hoarding. Here are links to 6 of them including a hoarding quiz you can take:

We now have lots of stuff from our parents, so there's a lot of it sitting around taking up space in our house and garage. And some of it I don't want to part with, even though I don't really need it, so I guess there's a bit of hoarding going on.
