Hi. I haven't posted in this forum in quite awhile.

Is there anything you don't do anymore but don't because of your age?

My answer would be that I don't watch cartoons any more. When I get to a cartoon channel I pass it by and say to myself I am too old for that!

Playing on playground equipment with going down the slide, going on the swing and swinging on the swing almost makes me nauseated, is that similar to someone who gets car sick.

I used to go to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent 52 years focused on "earning my living" through working. When I was young I even had a week job, and evening job and a weekend job.

My time was devoted to buying clothes to impress people at work, getting my hair done for work, getting sleep so I would be fresh for work, doing cultural things so that I had something to discuss at work - polishing my ego so that it stood up there with the competition.

All of that gave me confidence, an organised approach to things, and some artistic/ creative things that I loved. I enjoyed work but there was too much time spent sitting in that chair just because I was paid to do so.

I think that I was lucky, nothing in my early life made it inevitable that I would find interesting work that fit with me or that gave me a secure home to live in.

Now since a few months, I don't work... and there has been a period of difficult adjustment to that.

I've let go of continually comparing myself with others and competing with them.

Well, when I fall down, I don't pop right back up like I used to.

Instead I find myself laying there kinda stunned as I assess where I'm at, how I got there, and whether or not everything is working okay.

Then I slowly and carefully get myself back up as best as I can.

I tried a cartwheel not too long ago. Not one of my better ideas.

I don't wear mini skirts or high heels

I don't know if you know it or not but there is adult acne too and I have it. Can't seem to get rid of it. I've tried 2 things on it so far.

It can be difficult to adjust to not working. I don't work either any more but have plenty to do around the home. I guess there are rewards in that, too. Just have to look for them.

Stay up late like till 10pm. I can't even make it to 9pm sometimes.

Sleep late. I wake up early, and I can't sleep late if I wanted to---too much building noise.

Worry about my appearance. Too bad, I think I look fine the way I am.

Wear high heels or anything uncomfortable, just to look good. Comfort and practicality is important to me now.

Drink caffeine after lunchtime. It keeps me up if I do that. But when I was younger, I could drink coffee (and eat cake which has sugar and also makes me hyper) as late as 10pm. And still fall asleep easily at 11pm...sleepy deeply too.

That's all I can think of now.

I really miss being able to go for long walks. Because of arthritis and weight gain from one of my necessary psych meds I can no longer walk very far, but when I need to I'm not too proud to use my walker.

Climb up onto a horse. Now have to use mounting block or a ladder, lol. Even have seemed to loose my balance and can't sit deep in the saddle anymore. Muscle memory is what is missing now.

Wet my pants, although give it a couple more decades and it’ll probably start happening again.
