I don't have any grandchildren--just a grand dog, who is a sweetie. But I know we seniors like to share about grandchildren and other good news, so here is our chance--without anybody rolling their eyes or thinking we're tooting our own horns. Plus it's good for us to think about positive things!
SO, I'll start! My younger son just successfully defended his dissertation--so now he can put "doctor" in front of his name. And I am feeling better with less body pain today |

Lol. Maybe change the title to “good news!”?
All of us have been isolating for three weeks, so the family is going to have a get-together on Sunday. |

My grandson(8) just finished a packet of school work and took it in to get more. My granddaughter ( almost 3) tho misses daycare. Loves playing with mommies textbooks but misses kids her age. I get pictures on the phone of what they are doing. My daughter is in a honor society and doing an internship.

wing, I can't change the title now--but if you wish, you can imagine nobody is "bragging," just giving good news!
Hubby and I are both working on books. He already had one out. I'm revising mine. |

My daughter is working on her PhD. She finishes class work this fall. She has already presented at several conferences and had 2 papers published with her professors. Her doctorate will be in literacy and her dissertation on whether “graphic novels” (what we used to call comic books) teach new vocabulary to elementary school students better than traditional methods.
I’m especially proud of her because she was so overwhelmed socially by high school we took her out and she basically taught herself. She took the GED at 16, then went to community college, then university and now this! I am encouraging her to collaborate with an artist and write educational graphic novels and/or write a book “From GED to PhD”. |

Yeah, who’d a thought. She has always been a hard worker. Her sister partied her way through school. She’s now settled down with husband (who partied right along with her), a baby and one on the way. Landed a decent job, too.
My husband was miserable at his job and finally got up the nerve to get a new one...starts next week (it’s an essential). Last edited by wing; Apr 24, 2020 at 09:03 AM.. |

Today I was so happy to be able to dismantle my sick room I resided in after my knee surgery. I am back to my old bed and the other room is returning to its normal appearance.

My daughter just graduated from university and will be going on to grad school. So now both of my children are college grads with excellent careers/career prospects.
I wish I had a grandchild, but I don't...I have hope for my son and his wife, though... Speaking of surgery, it looks like my surgery (achilles tendon) will be in late May (fingers crossed). Yay! __________________ |

Yep, BethRags, good for you. My daughter was 29 before she had Levi. I never thought I’d have grandchildren either.
The weather is absolutely perfect today and I can type outside. Met my new neighbor for the second time and she seems lonely like me. Maybe a new friend? |

I know this might sound silly, but I've finally learned to give up on reading an entire book, even if I'm halfway through it, if it bores me or turns in a way I find unappealing. Life's too short!

So glad you had a great Mother's Day, wing!
I actually have the kitchen cleaned up--dishes put away and counters cleared off! |

My house was such a wreck we even had to scrub the patio! Got everything done but the counters. Will do that later tonight.

Similarly, we had our house, our driveway, and our roof spray-washed today, It looks a lot cleaner!
